Journalists hold boycott form provincial assembly , stage rally against killing of colleague

QUETTA: The journalists community staged walkout from the session of Baluchistan Assembly against the killing of a reporter Munir Shakir on the appeal of Baluchistan Union of Journalists. They also tied black strips on their arms.

After boycott journalists hold a protest rally outside assembly building . They were holding black flags and placards on which the demand for arrest the killer of Munir Shakir were mentioned ,whereas they also put locks on their mouths.
On the occasion Provincial Ministers Ain Ullah Shamas, Shahnawaz Mari, Abdul Rehman Mangal and Jameel Kalmati came to negotiate journalists .
The journalists apprised ministers that it is the fourth incident of killing journalists but neither any investigation was made nor any culprit was apprehended. They demanded compensation for the family members of all the journalists , that have been killed in the line of duty.
Provincial ministers assured the journalists that government is taking steps to eradicate targeted killings from Baluchistan .They said Chief Minister and ministers were attacked. Terrorists even killed nephew of CM, but the provincial government is not ignorant of the facts.
They said that journalists are the eyes of the society and government would take every possible step to protect them. They said that CM has instructed IG police to arrest the killer of Munir Shakir, who was working as reporter with Online News Network at Khuzdar. Online
