ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has convened important meeting of Defence Committee (DC) today.
Official
sources told the meeting would be held in Prime Minister House and it
would be attended by three services chiefs, chief of ISI, interior
minister, foreign minister, defence minister, information minister and
senior officers of the respective departments,
Sources
disclosed that overall security situation of the country would be
reviewed in the meeting. Progress in the ongoing military operation
against the terrorists in tribal areas, needs of defence institutions,
Balochistan situation, steps taken for maintaining law and order
situation in Karachi and other matters will come under discussion in
the meeting.
Certain vital decisions are likely to be taken in the meeting with reference to national security. Online
