ISLAMABAD: Ministry of finance has blocked Rs.3 billion funds for
HEC (Higher Education Commission), in lieu of increase in salaries of
HEC employees.
Sources have informed ONLINE that only 7% funds
out of total of 30% developmental budgetary allocation had been
disbursed so far. However Finance ministry has so far given no reason
for this action.
Due to this blockage of funds the HEC
employees were facing difficulty in enjoying the benefits of 50%
increase of previous year and another 15% increase announced during
current year.
The disgruntled HEC employees have been known to
have met chairman HEC, Javed Leghari on Tuesday, and conveyed their
grievances to him. Online
