ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting was held under President Asif Ali
Zardari to review the ongoing development projects in Karakuram and
lowering of water level in Atta Abad lake,

FW gave briefing to the President Asif Ali Zardari, He told that work
was started in October, 2010 to expand spell way. FWO has completed
first phase of work and spell way has been dug out to the extent of 24
meter. The work on second phase is under way.
It was decided in the meeting that all possible measures will be taken to lower the level of water in Atta Abad lake.
President
directed that construction of affected parts of Karakuram high way and
rehabilitation work be completed as soon as possible.
It was
told in the meeting that CRBC had accepted the proposal for
construction of 13 kilometre new road and rehabilitation of 22
kilometre affected areas. National High Way Authority and CRBC have
signed agreement in this respect. Online
