Pir Pagara demands army for Karachi

KARACHI: The Chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional Pir Pagara demanding government to call Pak army for Karachi unrest said that the people of Karachi should embrace themselves for Army and in this regard the government has our support.

This he said during his meeting with Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik at his residence Kingri House.
During the meeting matters related to political affairs and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Talking to reporters along with Interior Minister Rehman Malik after the meeting Pir Pagara said that he is not too optimistic of peace in Karachi and without the help of army peace in Karachi remains elusive. He said that he demands army in Karachi for the betterment of the city and if the government does decided to deploy army in Karachi we would fully support it. He said that restoration of Commissionerate system in Karachi was our demand which s been fulfilled.
Rehman Malik talking to reporters said Karachiittes were facing a very difficult situation in the city amid recent spate of violence He urged all political parties to get in concert for peace and betterment of the city, stressing that the operation in the metropolis would continue until the situation got back on track.
On this occasion, he vowed to take strict action against miscreants regardless of their political affiliations, adding the Rangers were in complete control of situation around Kati Pahari areas.
