Consensus on national issues need of the hour: Shah Mehmood Qureshi


MULTAN: Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Saturday that the country is confronted with tough challenges while all political parties need consensus over all national issues.

Talking to media at VIP Lounge of Multan airport on Saturday Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the government should take the national issues seriously because fingers are being raised on the government over national issues.
Former Foreign Minister expressed concerns over deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi and the government’s apathy over the issues.
He said that it is not time of local elections or political break up and fusion but it is time to steer the country out from different sort of crisis.
Talking about Nawaz Sharif’s statement regarding mid-term elections, he said that the government should complete it’s tenure but the situation has become out of control.
Answering to question about his future he said that he is not worried about his future. He said that conspiracies are being hatched against him.
Answering to question about Prime Minister and his family’s involvement in corruption cases, former Foreign Minister said that he never done irresponsible politics and the masses have vigilant eye on all situation.
He further said that he would hold meetings with Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan, Maulana Fazal Urrehman, Munawar Hassan and leadership of MQM in future.
He said that PPP is a big political party but some particular persons are making decisions while there is lack of consultation over issues in the party.
Responding to question about Raja Riaz’s resolution Shah Mehmood said that his resolution is not reflecting his thinking but there is no reason for cancellation of my membership.
He said that in house change is a constitutional matter but majority of members is essential for this purpose. He said that PPP should think why PML-N, PPP and JUI-F parted ways from the coalition. Online
