FIA presents in the court details of property, bank accounts of Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: FIA which is probing into Benazir Bhutto assassination case has presented preliminary details of property and bank assets in Pakistan to the court.

Judge Shahid Rafiq of Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) has directed FIA to provide the court full details in this respect.
Special Prosecutor FIA, Chaudhry Muhammad Zulfiqar presented the report carrying details of property of Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan and the information provided by State Bank of Pakistan during the course of hearing at Adiala Jail.
As per report CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad had said in writing Pervez Musharraf had no other property in Islamabad except farm house in Chak Shahzad. According to state bank report former president was holding accounts in 6 banks. These banks are Alflah Bank, Habib Metropolitan Bank, Muslim Commercial Bank, Allied Bank, National Bank and Metropolitan bank.
190000 dollars were lying in Pervez Musharraf foreign currency account in National Bank, over 40 million rupees in Habib Metropolitan bank and total which is being kept in bank accounts in all banks comes to over Rs 80 million.
On inquiring from court special prosecutor Chaudhry Muhammad Zulfiqar presented the copies of letters sent to GHQ, DHA housing and Adjutant General saying FIA had sent letters to these institutions so that they could provide details of property owned by former president in Cantonment board and DHA. However no reply had been received so far from them.
The court directed them to obtain replies from these institutions and present them before it on next hearing.
Malik Rafiq senior counsel of former CPO Rawalpindi and former SP Khurram Shahzad filld application in the court taking the plea that FIA was not providing them copies of documents presented by this agency in the court.
Opposing the application FIA said all the authentic copies of the documents had been provided to the learned defence counsel. The court fixed July 23 for arguments in respect of the case. Online
