SUKKUR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday said that the provincial home minister Zulfiqar Ali Mirza had not been removed on the demand of MQM chief Altaf Hussain but sent on one-month leave.
Talking to the media in Khairpur, the chief minister said that concerns of the people about the housing census would be addressed. He added that some mistakes in the ground work of housing census had been reported. For their rectification, orders have been issued to the Census Commissioner, Sindh. He said that the Census Commissioner was monitoring the housing census.
The CM said that there was no condition of the CNIC for the housing population and added that each and every house in urban as well as rural areas should be brought into the population census net.
The chief minister appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the enumerators and in any mishap should register their complaints in the District Coordination Offices of their respective districts. He said that the government was taking all possible steps to control the law and order situation in the province, especially to deal with the target killings in Karachi. He said that the police had arrested several target killers.
