Srinagar : In occupied Kashmir, the authorities placed the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani under house arrest on Tuesday.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Gilani was scheduled to meet illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists lodged in Srinagar Central Jail.
However, he was placed under house arrest on Tuesday morning, the spokesman of the forum patronised by Syed Ali Gilani, said.
The spokesman strongly condemned placing the ailing leader under house arrest and termed it as frustration of the occupation authorities.
The puppet regime is frustrated by Giani’s popularity and is using different tactics to suppresshis resolve. But he is committed to take the ongoing movement to its logical conclusion, he added.
