Lahore: The Lahore High Court has sought the interior ministry’s report on the whereabouts of missing families of Faizan and Faheem, two Pakistanis shot dead by Raymond Davis, an American national.
According to petitioner Advocate Malik Munsif Awan, the families had been missing since March 16 when they had pardoned Raymond after accepting the blood-money. On Tuesday, an assistant advocate general, Wali Khan, filed a written statement of Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan about the status of allegedly missing families. According to the statement, both families were last reported to be present in the court of additional district and sessions judge Yousaf Aujla at the Kot Lakhpat jail. Later, they had left the jail premises along with their counsel Raja Irshad, it added. The counsel had taken them to Rawalpindi, the law minister said, hoping that the families were still in the city.
The law officer also referred to some media reports which said the families of deceased Faizan and Faheem had accepted blood-money on their free will and they were free to live wherever they wanted.
