LAHORE : The CNG station owners will observecomplete strike in Lahore and other parts of Punjab on Wednesday(today) against the gas loadshedding. The Petrol pump retailers willalso close their outlets as token strike on the occasion.
A joint meeting of All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) and AllPakistan Petroleum Retailers Association (APPRA) held here at alocal banquet hall at Liberty Market. APCNGA Supreme Council Vice President Capt (Retd) Shuja Anwar,Chairman Lahore Region Samiud Din, President Lahore City Aleem Butt,Vice President Punjab Irfan Ghori, APPRA executive members Kh Babarand Sardar Anwaar Ghani sit on the stage, while a large number ofCNG and Petrol pump owners attended the meeting. APCNGA Supreme Council Vice President Capt (Retd) Shuja Anwarsaid in his address that CNG and Petrol Pump owners would observe 24hours strike and close sale of gas and fuel as protest. He said some80 petrol pumps affiliated with APPRA would close fuel sale in city,while in Rawalpindi all petrol pumps owners have unanimouslyannounced to participate in strike. He said on April 14 (Thursday) CNG station owners would gather atLahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and stage a protestrally which would conclude at Governor House. He said CNG ownerswere fighting war for their survival and they would not keep silentin future. He said federal government was suspending gas to CNGstations which consuming only 250 MMCFD gas and supplying the gas toIPP, fertilizer and textile sectors over their pressure. He said weconveyed the government that CNG station owners were united fortheir rights. He also expressed his concern over reducing the commission marginfor petrol pump retailers and said that petrol pump owners wouldalso observe as token strike for increasing their commission. Hesaid if government would not raise the commission for petrol pumpretailers they would be forced for mixing and short measuringtactics. After meeting, all petroleum retailers and CNG stationowners took oath to participate in strike.
