ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said he will give reply to Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in parliament about his statement.
PM said this while talking to media men after his meeting with representatives of Young Doctors Association and Paramedical here Tuesday outside parliament.
He told that service structure related demands from doctors had been accepted. A committee had been constituted in this respect, which would present its report within 15 days.
Government would take measures to regularize the services of contract doctors. If any ordinance is needed in this respect it will be promulgated, he held. Doctors should serve the people and provision of all the facilities to doctors would be ensured, he underlined.
Meanwhile sources told that Prime Minister had expressed his anger over misguidance by Federal Health Secretary Nargis Sethi on the Young Doctors Issue. Sources told that PM had directed Health Ministry to remove all reservations of the young doctors after approval of new service structure. On this the federal secretary assured PM that all reservations of the young doctors have been removed and the YDA wants to meet the PM and thank him.
On this the PM invited the delegation to Parliament House however the PM was left in a fix when media asked him that why a certain group of doctor did not come and neither the ministry has removed their reservations.
Prime Minister said that all reservations of the doctors would be removed.
In this regard when President YDA Dr Ajmal was contacted he said we have received no written assurance from the Health Ministry as yet for redressal of our demands due to which why we did not go and meet the PM.
Earlier talking addressing 94th National Management Course ceremony he said PPP led government passed 18th and 19th amendment with consensus in difficult times. Rights had been given to the provinces after getting NFC Award approved, he added.
He maintained government was encountering multiple challenges including economic and administrative challenges. All possible measures were being taken to provide amenities to common man, he underlined.
Role of civil servants was very vital in preparation and implementation of government policies, he added. They should give priority to three objectives while discharging their obligations, he stressed. They objectives were provision of best facilities to people, optimal utilization of available resources and preference to target sets by the elected representatives, he indicated.
