Three kids killed in US troops- insurgents crossfire

KABUL: The office window of the European Union’s special representative to Afghanistan was hit by gunfire Tuesday, officials said. Nobody was hurt in the incident at the high security Kabul compound of envoy Vygaudas Usackas, and it is not known whether the shooting was accidental or deliberate.

“One high-velocity round struck the bulletproof window of head of delegation and EU special representative ambassador Vygaudas Usackas’ office,” a statement from his office said. “No-one was hurt. The incident is under investigation.”
Meanwhile, Afghanis-tan’s spy agency said Tuesday its agents had captured an alleged Taliban executioner responsible for public beheadings and other grisly killings on behalf of the militia. The claims could not be verified independently.
On the other hand, three children were killed on Tuesday and four other people, including women and children, injured in crossfire between US-led troops and insurgents in north of the country, the coalition said.
It said the children died when a cornered rebel opened fire and threw a hand grenade at them in the middle of the gunfight in Faryab province. Several rebels were also killed, it said in a statement.
