New UNICEF Representative for Pakistan

Islamabad : Mr. Dan Rohrmann has presented his credentials to the Government of Pakistan as the Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Pakistan.

Mr. Rohrmann will be leading the UNICEF team in Pakistan to continue the early recovery for children and women following the devastating monsoon floods in 2010, as well as overseeing UNICEF’s programmes in health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education and child protection as part of the UN Delivering as One Programme.
A major feature of UNICEF’s work in the immediate future entails support for the Presidential Programme to Eradicate Polio, in which UNICEF is a partner with the Government of Pakistan and many other global partners.
Mr. Rohrmann has wide experience of working in a number of UN agencies. Prior to his current assignment in Pakistan, Mr. Rohrmann was responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance for UNICEF’s global programmes.
