BARA: Militants belonging to Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) kidnapped three persons from Speen Qabar area of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency on Tuesday after they refused to fight against rival Zakhakhel tribe and Tirah-based militant organisation Ansarul Islam (AI), local sources said.
The sources said Fazal Shah, Inayat and Abid, hailing from Sepah Afridi tribe, were shifted to an unidentified location. The sources said that three persons were kidnapped after they defied the order of Mangal Bagh, the head of LI, to provide one person from each family for fighting against AI in Tirah valley. The sources said Mangal Bagh had ordered the detention of some 35 of his fellow tribesmen who have refused to turn up for fighting against AI.
Meanwhile, clashes between Zakhakhel tribesmen and militants of LI continued in Khari Mila and Volay areas of Bazaar valley on Tuesday. No casualty was, however, reported in the fighting. More than 300 families have so far shifted from the conflict zone.
