Three protesters killed in result of clashes between police & protesters in Mianwali

At least three protestors killed and 32 others were injured in the result of the clashes between protesters protesting against the electricity load shedding and for Chasma power plant royalty here in mianwali on Monday.

The incident happen when the police tried to stop the participants of the long march from going towards chashma power plant, resulting in clashes between police and protesters.
Meanwhile DPO Mianwali Waqas Nazir and DCO were among the injured in result of clash between protestors and policemen.
The police baton charged, fired shells of tear gas and aerial firing to disperse the crowd but the mob turned violent and the protesters pelted stones on the police in the result of the clash. As a result, three people killed and 32 others were injured including DCO, DPO, SHO and 20 policemen.
The protesters burnt many vehicles including police mobiles. The protestors demanded for the uninterrupted power supply and royalty of Chasma Power Plant. They said the production of power plant is 950mw and the load shedding had been observed for 18 hours in a day, which is great injustice with the people of the area. The protestors also held the DPO Mianwali hostage, afterwards freed by police.
According to a private TV channel two thousand rangers personnel were reached and took control of the area. The protestors surrounded the policemen and snatched the guns; meanwhile the police arrested a suspected person from the scene and recovered a pistol from his custody.
While talking to a private TV channel injured DPO Mianwali Waqas Nazir said that time and again tried to inform the protesters that interruption of power is the problem of federal government but they cross two barriers and reached in third barrier where the policemen tried to stop them as a result of which the protestors attacked the policemen and administration of power plant resulted more than 20 policemen including DCO were injured.
He said it is not the problem of load shedding but some enemies of the country wanted to target the power plant by taking benefit of the protest. Time and again it is said to the protesters that there is no relation between declaring Mian Wali shedding free zone with moving towards Chasma power plant.
Meeting with the peoples of different parties taking part in this protest had been held but the protesters violated the promise by moving towards the power plant.
Waqas Nazir said that the protesters wanted to take lives of the policemen and administration personnel by dividing them in to small groups.
He said we used minimum force to disperse the protestors and one of the protesters had received bullet injury in his leg but his death happened in the result of the cardiac arrest, adding that the situation is under control after the arrival of extra police force.
Acting DPO Mianwali Imran Mehmood while talking to a private TV channel said that eight to nine policemen were injured including DCO and DPO, adding that police had not opened fire on the protesters and no person was killed in the result of the police firing.
He asked the media to present both sides of the coin instead of one sided reporting, adding that the media should not mislead the people over the issue. SANA
