Demand for action against organizers and participants of the gay and lesbian ceremony held under the premises of the US Embassy in Islamabad has been intensified.
Severe reaction has been showed by the political and religious
parties and demanded form the government to deport US ambassador as
declaring him non person grata.
Leaders of the political and religious parties said that US Embassy
violated the laws, religious and political values of Pakistan. Criminal
charges should be leveled against the participants and organizers of
the ceremony.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F), Jamaat-e-Islami, and Pakistan
Tehreek-e-Insaf has demanded of the government to take action against
the responsible persons.
The leaders said that the US Embassy bypassed the diplomatic values
by holding such kind of ceremony, adding that the local laws and
regulations are applicable on the foreign diplomats according to the
rules and regulation for diplomats.
They said that it is clearly written in the documents for diplomats
that the diplomat would follow the local laws and regulations and it is
his moral responsibility to follow these laws
They said that it’s also written in the diplomatic documents that
the Ambassador would ensure his sub-ordinates to follow local laws and
regulations, adding that the hatred against Americans would be further
increased in the masses by arranging such kind of ceremonies.
Senior leader of JUI (F) Hafiz Hussain Ahmed while talking to “SANA”
said that US is the champion of shattering international and diplomatic
principals, adding that the US seen Pakistan as her colony and
surmounted area.
He said it is compulsory for diplomats to follow the local laws and
regulations. He further said that none of the diplomat has the
authority to bypass the local laws. Hafiz Hussain Ahmad said that
Americans use the land of Pakistan for their own interest and assumed
each part of Pakistan as Shamsie Airbase.
He said that an army dictator given the pious land to impious
people and we are paying ransom for this. He said no religion even
Christianity allow such type of ceremonies. Such types of thing are
even not present in animals. Amir Jamaat-e-Islami district Lahore
Amirul Azeem and central media coordinator of the JI Shahid Shamsi
expressed severe reaction and demanded for registering criminal charges
against the organizers and participants.
They said that the US Embassy bypassed the rules and regulations and
the social values of Pakistan. It is responsibility of government to
hold legal action again the organizers. None of the embassy has the
right to violate the laws and regulations of host country.
Central press secretary Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Umer Sarfraz Cheema
said that US embassy violated the sanctity of Pakistan. Such type of
ceremonies and parties are against our cultural and Islamic values. He
said that none of the foreign diplomats has the right to play with the
laws and regulations of host country.
He said that Pakistan is not the colony of US to use the land of
Pakistan for her personal interests, adding that the US cannot cross
her limits and it is compulsory for diplomats to obey the local laws
and regulations. It is worth mentioning that according to the website
of US Embassy, the embassy officials had violated the laws and social
values of Pakistan by inviting homosexuals and ensured them for their
rights.
According to the embassy news 75 peoples including mission officers,
military representatives, foreign diplomats, homosexuals in foreign
affairs agencies in Pakistan, leaders of Pakistani GLBT advocacy group
attended the ceremony. Religious circles have demanded of the
government to take strict notice of this gathering and should take
