One security cop martyred in Afghan insurgents attack on Pak check post

A security official was killed and another injured when nearly 1200 Afghan militants attacked Kat Kot check post in Bajaur agency here on Monday.

In the result of the retaliation of the Pakistani many terrorist were killed and remaining militants manage to flee in Afghan area.
According to the private TV channel sources, the militants attacked the check post at 3: AM on Monday, resulting in the death of one security person and injury of another one.
Meanwhile four Pakistanis, including two children, were wounded when a mortar shell fired from Afghanistan struck a village near the border, Pakistani security officials said; meanwhile the injured persons were shifted in the mramshah hospital.
It was the latest incident in a series of alleged cross-border attacks that have raised tensions between the neighbors as officials confirmed exploratory peace contacts between Afghanistan, the United States and the Taliban.
Meanwhile a military offensive has been launched against militants in central tehsil of Kurram Agency and families have started fleeing the conflict zone, sources said.
A senior official in Peshawar confirmed that a ‘full-fledged operation’ had been launched in the valley.
The troops had been dropped from helicopters in Manato and Zaimukhet and army and paramilitary forces, backed by air force, were conducting a joint operation in the area.
The military offensive has triggered displacement as large numbers of families have started moving to lower part of the tehsil where a relief camp has been set up at Durrani area.
According to official estimates, over 4,000 families are likely to flee their homes because of the military operation. SANA
