82 women get "Waseela-e-Haq" cheques under Benazir Income Support Programme

MULTAN: Multan MPA Syed Ahmed Mujtuba Gilani and Senator Malik Salahuddin Dogar distributed cheques among 82 women amounting Rs 1,50,000 to each already elected after balloting draw in "Waseela-e-Haq" scheme of Benazir Income Support Programme here on Monday.

The cheques distribution ceremony held at Raza Hall Multan which was participated by 82 beneficiary women. Chief Guest In charge PM’s camp office Multan MPA Syed Ahmed Mujtuba Gilani said that Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto wanted to empower the poor. He added that Benazir Income Support Programme was launched in line with the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Syed Ahmed Mujtuba Gilani said that the programme is heading forward successfully and it is also being upgraded to extend maximum relief to the poor. He said that "Waseela-e-Haq" ,"Waseela-e-Rozgar", Life Insurance and Health Insurance programmes would surely help to change economic condition of the poor.
He also paid tribute to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani for extending matchless services toward masses.
PPP leader and Senator Salahuddin Dogar said that the programme is benefiting the poor without any discrimination. He said that the deserving people are getting relief under the programme.
Director General Benazir Income Support Programme Shahid Aslam Mahar highlighted salient features of the programme. He disclosed that more than 4 million poor families are receiving financial help in line with the programme. He said that the basic theme of BISP is to empower the women and to eradicate the poverty from the country and this programme was started to fulfill the vision of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He said the programme is being upgraded to facilitate maximum people in highly effective way. He said the women who acquired the cheques underwent training programme. The beneficiary women were provided special training in order to enable them to begin their businesses. He said the women will have to return the amount Rs 300,000 within 15 years and also added that the loan amount is interest-free and is issued without any collateral. Online
