Target killing has reduced after I took over: Manzoor Wasan

RAWALPINDI: The Provincial home minister, Manzoor Wasan has said that Talking to media after his arrival at Rawalpindi airport from Karachi, he said that he was well versed with all the tricks of his trade of implementing peace in Karachi, but he would rather take all along the mainstream, in a friendly, brotherly and loving manner.

He said that the former home minister had his own way of dealing with issues, while his (Wasan’s) was of a different approach.
“ The objective is to restore peace, tranquility and normalcy in Karachi, and enhance the sense of security for citizens there” he stressed.
Replying to a question, he said that there were no plans for any operation against MQM, but rather against criminal elements bent on destroying the peace, tranquility, harmony and economy of the City.
“No politician has ever gone to the embattled Katti Pehari, but I have also gone there”, he declared.
Replying to another question, he said that the tragic target killings were on rise during MQM’s participation in government, but now these have subsided, and the situation was taking a turn for good.
He also assured that, if enough grace time was granted to him, Karachi would once again become the peace haven of yore as was envisioned by late Z. A. Bhutto himself. Online
