First Federal Cabinet meeting in Quetta on Wednesday

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani will preside over a first ever meeting of the Federal Cabinet in Quetta, capital of Balochistan, on Wednesday. Prime Minister Gilani left here for Quetta on Tuesday afternoon. It was decided by the Prime Minister that the Federal Cabinet will meet at different provincial headquarters for promoting provincial harmony. Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani visited Islamabad last week and held a meeting with Interior Minister Rehman Malik to finalize arrangements for the Cabinet meeting. All the Cabinet members statred arriving in Quetta on Tuesday.
The Cabinet will discuss the progress on implementation of Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package, law and order situation in the province and provision of basic needs of life to its people, besides other important issues.
It will be 87th meeting of the Federal Cabinet of Prime Minister Gilani.
Since March 31, 2008 when the PPP came to power, the Federal Cabinet held 86 cabinet meetings to regularly pursue matters of national policy and governance. APP
