Islamabad: At least 2,890 people were killed in the past nine years
in 2,028 terror attacks in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
province, said a government report Tuesday.
The provincial government issued the report comprising facts and
figures of "subversive activities" in the province from 2003 till date,
the Online news agency reported.
The people who died in the attacks included security officials,
clerics, journalists, doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, students,
businessmen as well as government and private employees, it said.
Some 120 personnel of the Frontier Constabulary - a paramilitary
unit of the province - and 441 policemen and 297 army personnel were
among those killed in terror attacks.
At least 7,035 people were reported injured. IANS
