Sindh govt makes arrangement for expected floods

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that provincial government is ready to tackle expected rains in monsoon season and flood threats and any negligence from any quarter would not be tolerated at all in this regard.

This he said while presiding a high level meeting at Chief Minister house on Tuesday. regarding preparedness for monsoon and floods in the province He directed all Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners as well as police officers to be vigilant in connection with monsoon season and any possibility of floods in the province.
He said that all preventive and precautionary measures such as cleanliness of nallah’s, drains and sewerage system be ensured. Chief Minister further directed that emergency situation be handled promptly while in case of any break down of electricity, alternate arrangements be made. Syed Qaim Ali Shah also directed engineers of Irrigation department , administration and police department to have strict watchfulness on flood protective dams.
The participants of meeting also presented various proposals for combating the situation in connection with monsoon and floods in the province.
