LHC asks CM to quit office if could not take action against patwaris

Chief Justice Lahore High Court on Tuesday during the hearing of a petition has observed that Chief Minister Punjab should quit the office if he could not take action against the corrupt patwaris and tehsildars of Lahore.
Meanwhile the court also issued contempt of court notice to DCO for non-issuance of land document to a citizen.

Chief Justice Lahore High Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry heard the plea of Khalid Saeed stating that a patwari refused to issue him a document of ownership despite court order.
The court has summoned DCO Lahore Ahad Cheema to explain why the court ordered was not complied with.
The court also said that when DCO was summoned, the patwari issued the document in 15 minutes. Terming the DCO incompetent, the court observed patwaris demand Rs 1.5 million for document of ownership.
The court directed the concerned authorities to throw out the incompetent and corrupt patwaris from Lahore and appoint new ones, who should be honest and eligible persons
The court also summoned the details of the assets of all the patwaris and tehsildars appointed in Lahore and adjourned the further hearing of the case till the 12th of August. SANA
