Power shortfall touches 4,803 MW Power shortfall touches 4,803 MW

LAHORE: The energy crises is continuing across the country and power shortfall on Tuesday shot up to 4,803 megawatts (MW), which forced Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) to observe 10 to 16 hours load shedding in urban and rural areas.

The prolonged hours power outages increased the miseries of already hapless people. According to PEPCO Spokesperson the complete generation of electricity was recorded at 13559 MW while the demand was of 18362 MW.
The hydel generation stood at 5,586 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,913 MW, Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 5,844 MW and Rental Power Plants (RPPs) 216MW; as many as 720 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC). Online
