Chaudhry Abdul Majeed elected as new AJK PM

Chaudhry Abdul Majeed elected as the eleventh Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) here on Tuesday.

The members of the assembly elected the new leader of the house by balloting. Chaudhry Abdul Majeed of PPP got 35 votes while Raja Farooq Haider Khan from PML-N got 11 votes.
PPP remained dominant in the assembly which favoured in the election of Abdul Majeed as the Prime Minister.
PPP has also announced Chaudhry Yasin as a Senior minister in the cabinet.
Meanwhile 47 members of the assembly were present during the election of the leader of the house but 46 members used their votes.
President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Zulqaranin Khan administered the oath of new prime minister.
Memembrs of the assembly congratulated Chaudhry Majeed over election of prime minister.
Chaudhry Majeed was born on 14th February 1964 in Chakswari in Mir Pur district of AJK and his educational qualification is BA and LLB.
It is worth mentioning here that Chaudhry Majeed has been elected members legislative assembly AJK sixth time and in past had served on key positions.
After the election Chaudhry Majeed announced to improve the governance and to ensure the merit, adding that the non-developmental expenses would be decreased in AJK.
Meanwhile Convener Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Raja Farooq Haider Khan and President Muslim Conference Sardar Atique Ahmed Khan congratulated Chaudhry Majeed over his election as prime minister.
