Pakistan wants resolution of Kashmir issue according to aspiration of Kashmiris: Hina Rabbani Khar

NEW DELHI: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said that Pakistan’s stand on Kashmir issue is based on the principle that the Kashmiri people should get the right of self determination, which has been assured to them by the UN and the international community. Pakistan seeks the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

She was talking to Syed Ali Shah Gilani, Chairman, Hurriyat Conference (G) on Tuesday , who met her at Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi Gilani was flanked Ayaz Akbar and Shafi Reshi.   The meeting was part of the Foreign Minister’s consultations with the Kashmiri leadership prior to the meeting with her Indian counterpart on 27 July. The Ministerial meeting will discuss matter of bilateral interests including Jammu and Kashmir dispute. Minister Khar also met Yasin Malik, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) at Lahore before leaving for India.
After the meeting speaking to the media, Syed Gilani said that the Kashmiri people appreciate the moral, political and diplomatic support given by Pakistan . The Kashmiris seek resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through the exercise of their right to self-determination.
