PM House, PM Secretariat seek one-week for clearance of outstanding electricity dues

ISLAMABAD: Different government departments including Aiwan-e-Sadr have started paying outstanding areas on account of electricity bills while Prime Minister House and its secretariat have sought time for one week for clearance of outstanding dues.

Ministry of water and power sources told Tuesday final notices were issued to Aiwan-e-Sadr, Prime Minister Secretariat, Prime Minister House, different government departments and members of parliament and they were to clear outstanding dues within 24 hours. Power supply to 62 members of parliament was disconnected due to non clearance of pending dues which has now been restored as majority of them had cleared their dues.
Ministry of water and power sources told that Aiwan-e-Sadr was default on payment of Rs 12.3 million on account of outstanding dues of electricity bills. Aiwan-e-Sadr paid all bills on receipt of final notice and this way supply was not disconnected.
Sources told Prime Minister Secretariat and Prime Minister House were default on payment of over Rs 20 million outstanding dues and they have sought time for one week for their clearance . Federal minister has allowed one week time on the assurance from CDA for payment of dues within the prescribed period as CDA makes payment of electricity bills of PM secretariat and PM house. Online
