KARACHI: Aamir Latif, and Naeem Tahir have been elected unopposed as
President and Secretary of Karachi Union of Journalists (Dastoori) for
2011-12 session.
According to election commissioner, Atta
Mohammad Tabbasum, two vice presidents, Raja Kamran, |and Tariq Aslam,
two joint secretaries, Ghulam Mustafa, and Mansoor Qureshi, finance
secretary Romail Kenneth, and information secretary Abdul Rehman were
also elected unopposed.
Elections for nine seats of the governing body will be held on July 30.
Meanwhile,
President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Dastoor) Idrees
Bakhtiar and Secretary General Mian Rifat Qadri have congratulated the
newly-elected office-bearers of the KUJ, and expressed the hope that
they would work for the betterment of journalist community. Online
