ISLAMABAD: The federal government once again has been reviewing the
proposal of two holidays in a week in order to overcome the energy
on-going energy cries in the country.
Well-placed sources in
Water & Power Ministry on Monday told Online more than 20 proposals
have been drawn in order to save energy while complete ban on
commercial decoration and lighting has also been proposed.
The sources further informed that by following two weekly holidays would save 2,500 to 3,000megawatt electricity.
On
the other hand, Prime Minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has convened
National Energy Conference in Islamabad regarding to address energy
crises which would be held on 27 September.
National Energy
Conservation Bill 2011 will be approved from Parliament, while the
other proposals include preparation of building energy codes and all
types of sign boards, hoardings, street lights and highways lights
would be converted into solid savings lights, said sources.
Water
& Power Ministry further told the proposal to reduce use of
electricity in PM; CMs and Ministers offices would be presented in 27
Septembers meeting.
All the aforementioned proposals will be
presented and approved during National Energy Conference. The Prime
Minister would chair the meeting while Chief Ministers from all
provinces would participate in the meeting. Online
