KARACHI: All high-ranking police officials involved in taking active
part in ongoing operation against target killers are potential targets,
themselves!.
It is pertinent to note that even earlier 185
police officers, who had taken an active part against target killers in
Karachi operation, had also fallen prey to such target killings.
Many
target killers had been arrested for target killings as high as 100
persons, and were found to be affiliated with various political
parties; while many had managed to bailout from courts, and NRO
(National Reconciliation Ordinance).
Police sources have said
that after the recent bombing of residence of SSP CID, Chaudhry Aslam
on Monday the security of police officers actively pursuing operations
is at stake.
Such imminent police officials like SSPs, CID
Chaudhry Aslam Khan, Fayyaz Khan, Mazhar Mashwani, SSP crimes branch
Farooq Awan, and other police officials are also reported to be on the
hit list.
