KARACHI: ANP leader Asfandyar Wali Khan has welcomed MQM chief Altaf
Hussain’s decision to retract from his controversial remarks. Altaf had
accused ANP leader of receiving million of dollars from the United
States to take part in 2008 general elections.
His allegation
stirred political tension between the two parties, both sides demanding
ban on each other. But in a statement from London today, Hussain
regretted that his remarks that had hurt the sentiments of ANP leaders
and activists. “I withdraw from these remarks,” he said in the
statement.
The MQM chief said he wants to end the bitterness
between two parties as Pakistan needs peace and
reconciliation. According to political pundits, Altat’s decision will
help defuse tension between the two sides. Online
