MUZAFFARABAD: Sardar Yaqoob Khan was sworn in as the 8th president of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According
to Media Reports, Chief Justice Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Azam administered
oath to Sardar Yaqoob Khan at the AJK Legislative Assembly building.
Former
AJK president Raja Zuaqarnain Khan, Prime Minister Chaudhry Majid,
Speaker Ghulam Sadiq, opposition leader Raja Farooq Haider, AJK
ministers, lawmakers, senior civil and military officers and a large
number of common citizens participated in the meeting.
Talking
to the media after the oath taking ceremony, the new president said
that he would prefer to work for the Kashmir freedom movement.
President
of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani
have congratulated the Sardar Yaqoob Khan on the assumption of his new
