Bloodiest wave of terrorism in Karachi takes 106 lives

KARACHI: Last week has proven to be the bloodiest week in the history of Karachi, in which 15 persons per day and 106 people in the whole week were killed.

The provincial leadership even after such huge loss of life and money instead of taking any concrete measures against all such miscreants remained endorsed in the argument of either to call armed forces or not.
According to the report of Voice of America, these incidents of terrorism started on 17 August when sacked dead bodies of five youngsters (residents of Layari) were recovered from various parts of the city.
After these murders unknown miscreants started firing from the old city area of Karachi, whereas the former member National Assembly Raja Kareem Dad and his companions were also shot dead. A not ending cycle of kidnap and murder of citizens started after that. From 17-23 August 106 citizens were murdered and their sag packed dead bodies were thrown on the streets.
According to the Federal Minster of Information Firdous Ashiq Awan due to this lawlessness in Karachi the national treasure has to bear a loss of Rs 21 billions in one week while the per day loss was Rs 3 billions. .
Due to the continuously increasing lawlessness in Karachi the opposition parties including ANP, MLF, MQM, various other nationalist parties and the traders community strongly demanded to call armed forces but the ruling party PPP remained indecisive.
It was decided on 23 August to call rangers rather than armed forces in for controlling the law and order conditions better in the city. Online
