KOHISTAN: At least thirty-three people have killed, dozens have gone
missing and more than eighty houses have been destroyed as flood
wreaked havoc in Kundiyaan, area of Kohistan here on Thursday.
According
to media reports flash flood has wreaked havoc in Kundiyaan, Kohistan
due to monsoon rains as a result thirty-three people were swept away by
bloods whose bodies have been recovered while several are missing.
The flash flood also destroyed more than eighty houses.
The
district administration has started rescue operation and the flood
victims are being shifted to safe place. Scores of people have
reportedly been made homeless and await help from outside. The
affected area is a rough terrain cut off from rest of the
neighbourhood. Rescue work hasn’t been officially started in the area
as yet. The district administration has sought helicopter for rescue
operation.
The area people’s memories are still fresh with last year flood that ruined 10 to 15 villages in the same locality. Online
