MIRAMSHAH: The Hafiz Gul Bahadur-led Taliban in North Waziristan on Monday vowed not to allow anyone to target the educational institutions in the tribal region and assured male and female students of cooperation in continuing their studies. Ahmadullah Ahmadi, a spokesman for Hafiz Gul Bahadur, said they always supported male and female education in the tribal region and provided full security to their schools.
He condemned the blowing up of a portion of the Government Girls’ High School Danday Darpakhel near Miramshah by unidentified persons and said they had already started an investigation into the incident.
The Taliban spokesman said they would search out those involved in blowing up a portion of the building and would punish them according to the Shariah. He said some elements don’t want the tribesmen of North Waziristan to live in peace and were bent on creating law and order situation in the region through terrorist attacks on schools. The spokesman said they would never allow such elements to succeed in their nefarious designs, saying they would extend full security to schools, health centres, and other public places in the tribal region.
