CHIEF Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that all the energies should be utilised for achieving the targets and timely completion of development projects.
He urged the divisional commissioners, district coordination officers and the departments concerned to spare no effort for the purpose. He said he would review the pace of development projects after three weeks and the chief secretary after every 10 days. He said the administration and departments concerned of the first three districts showing best performance in transparency, high quality and timely completion of projects would be encouraged at a special function and the chief secretary should evolve a course of action in this regard.
The chief minister was addressing a meeting held to review the pace of implementation on annual development programmes, special packages for big cities and mega development projects in southern Punjab at the Chief Minister s Secretariat here on Monday.

Shahbaz said the Punjab government was utilising all the available resources for rapid development of the province and provision of basic amenities to the masses.
He said that timely and transparent completion of all the development projects was also being ensured so that people could benefit from their fruits at the earliest. He said special attention was being paid to the development of the backward areas and the development work carried out during the last two and a half years in southern Punjab was unprecedented.
Bus Rapid Transport System: Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Lahore Transport Company (LTC) is implementing the course of action evolved regarding Bus Rapid Transport System and provision of new buses.
He was presided over a meeting to review the provision of quality, comfortable and reliable transport facilities to people of the province and steps taken by the Lahore Transport Company in this regard.
Shahbaz directed the LTC to accelerate the pace of work on the Bus Rapid Transport System and provide new buses with the cooperation of various firms so that the best transport facilities could be provided to people at the earliest.
Iraqi envoy : Iraqi Ambassador in Pakistan Dr Rushdi Mahmood Rasheed called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at CM s Secretariat here on Monday and discussed bilateral relations and various matters of mutual interest with him.
Chinese delegation: A team of Xinjiang Beixin Road & Bridge Construction Company China, led by its Chief Operating Officer Mr Zhaomingshang, called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at CM s Secretariat here on Monday and exchanged views regarding cooperation in infrastructure sector in Punjab.
