LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency on Monday submitted the challan against PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi in the NICL scam, declaring him guilty of opening bogus accounts.
The court has provided copies of the case record to Moonis Elahi and his manager Abdul Malik and two bank managers. The court adjourned the hearing for April 19 when the charges are likely to be framed against the accused.
FIA Investigation Officer Inspector produced Moonis before Special Judge (banking offences) Abdul Rasheed.
Before submission of the challan, Iqbal Bhatti, counsel of Moonis, argued before the court that the FIA had failed to find out evidence against his client and could not submit a challan even after keeping him in custody for 14 days. The IO, however, informed the court that challan would be submitted within a few hours.
