LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa has said he is hopeful that the judiciary will play its role in removing the stigma it has been facing after the judicial murder of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Khosa stated this while addressing a seminar organised by the PPP Overseas workers here on Monday.
Commenting over the reopening of the ZAB murder case, he said the party had not filed the case for declaring Bhutto innocent because history was a witness to the fact that Bhutto was judicially murdered. He further said that it was Bhutto who changed the politics of the country by shifting it to the people from drawing rooms and he always supported empowerment of the masses.
He said Bhutto must be credited for his efforts for uniting the Muslims across the globe and giving Pakistan its Constitution. He also said that bogus votes had been eliminated and the next polls would be fair and transparent.
Meanwhile, the governor Punjab also attended a book fair at the Expo Centre. Talking to the media there, Khosa said the MQM’s arrival in the Punjab would not mean that it would give rise to rifts among the provinces. He said at the moment, Pakistan needed national solidarity and mutual differences should be sorted out. President PPP Overseas Professor Ejazul Hassan was also present.
