ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Tuesday said that his governmentis taking all measures to mitigate sufferings of the poor. He further said that the government is focused on pro-poor policies despite financial constraints. The Prime Minister expressed these views while presenting cheques of Rs 200,000 each to M Tariq from Haripur and Khalifa M Irshad Baig, a poor artisan of Saidpur Village at Prime Minister House.Taking notice of the report aired on a TV Channel regarding plight of a poor family of Hazara, the Prime Minister directed to contact the head of the family. M Tariq is a resident of Hazara and has four children. His two children are disabled by birth. One son is eight years old while the other one is 7 years old. The Prime Minister asked him to have good medical treatment of his children, so that both could lead a normal healthy life.
