At least 20 people have been killed and over 100 injured in a bomb blast near a CNG station in civil lines areas of Faisalabad on Tuesday.
Regional Police Officer Aftab Cheema confirming the casualties said so far 20 deaths have been reported.
Earlier, civil administration had confirmed 13 deaths and 30 injured while the hospital sources had confirmed 15 deaths and 80 people injured of them 60 admitted at civil hospital and 20 in Allied hospital. Death toll is feared to rise for precarious condition of many injured.
The sister-in-law of former PPP Punjab president Aftab Rana is also said to be among killed.
The roof of a nearby building caved in while three other buildings collapsed and a large number of cars and CNG station destroyed due to explosion. According to reports the part of PIA office building was also damaged where 15 persons sustained injuries.
The police said explosive material was planted in a car which went off near a CNG station causing blast of gas cylinders. The rescue teams are trying to retrieve bodies and injured from debris of buildings.
The people of area felt as it was an earthquake.
