At least six people including a woman were shot dead and eight others injuredin different incidents of firing in the metropolis on Monday.In first incident the body of a man packed in a gunny bag was found from Orangi Town, Baloch Goth areain the wee hours of Monday.
The body had also torture marks and unidentified suspects after kidnapping and killing the victim threw the body at an abandoned place. The victim seems to be in his 30s. His identity was yet to be ascertained.The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico- legal formalities. In another incident a man was shot dead in Khadda Market in the wee hours of Monday in the limits of Baghdadi police station, police said.A duty officer at Baghdadi police station said that unidentified armed men fire multiple shots on Younis Memon, 35 son Yousuf Memon near Haji Abdullah Haroon College. He died on the spot.The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. The victim was the resident of the same area.In another incident two men sustained injuries when unidentified armed men opened fire near Johar Morr, Ghulistan-e-Johar in the wee hours of Monday.
Police said unidentified persons opened fire on Hafiz,30, son of Zafar and his companion Anwar,40, sonof Mansoor near Johar Morr, leaving them injured before fleeing from the scene.They were rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi for medical treatment.Separately a young schoolteacher was shot injured in Lines Area in the limits of Brigade police station on early Monday morning, police said.A duty officer at Brigade police station Sub Inspector Muneer said that unidentified armed men opened firing on Gul Sehar, 25 as she came out from school van near Sun Mark School situated in Lines Area. As a result she received bullet injuries. She was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medical treatment.The police registered an FIR number 71/2011 against unidentified accused.In another incident a man was shot dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar near Aladin Park in the limits of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station.Police said that unidentified armed men riding a bike opened fire on Syeed Hassan Asif, 40 son of SyedMujataba. As a result he received bullet injuries and died on the spot.The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.The victim was the resident of Farhan Town at Main Rashid Minshas Road and employee of Karachi Water &Sewerage Board. In another incident a man was shot dead in Clifton in the limits of Frere police station, police said.Duty officer at Frere police station Sub Inspector Wilayet Hussain said that the bullet-riddled body of a man was found at Clifton Old Bridge. It was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.The victim was stated to be in his early 40s and his identity could not be ascertained till filing this report.In yet another incident two young men were shot injured in Saifi Lane in the limits of Baghdadi policestation, police and Edhi Information Cell said.SHO Baghdadi police station Mohammad Ali said that unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate firingin Saifi Lane Baghdadi area. As a result Shamraiz, 19 and Rasool Bux, 23 received bullet injuries. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medical treatment. They were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment where the doctors pronounced Ameer Jahan as dead. Police said that the motive behind the incident was seemed to be personnel enmity. In another incident a man was shot dead and two others injured in an armed attack near Abbassi Sheed Hospital in evening, police said.SHO Samim Saheed police station Waqar Azeem said that unidentified armed men riding a Khyber car without number plate opened indiscriminate fire near railway track in Nazimabad number 03 area. As a result Saleem son of Mohammad Roshan 40, Zubair son of Mohammad Khursheed 22 and Mohammad Maqsood son of Amanatullah received bullet injuries. They were shifted to the Abbassi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment where doctors pronounced Saleem as dead on arrival. The victim was the resident of Shershah.
