Peshawar - The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday rejected the bail application of ex-executive director Fata for his alleged corruption and ordered his arrest from the court premises.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in year 2000 had filed a reference of Rs80 million against ex-director FATA Roshan Khan Khattak for making illegal assets. Roshan Khattak hadleft the country to avoid arrest in lived for 10 years in foreign.
During this period the Accountability court had declared him absconder while NAB had issued red warrant against him and contacted Interpol for his arrest. Due to consistent pressure for his arrest from the Interpol, Roshan Khattak came back to Pakistan and filed a interim bail application in the Peshawar High Court.
The double bench of Peshawar High Court consisting of Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Dost Mohammad Khan after completion of arguments from defending counsel and NAB’s prosecutor, its deputy director NAB Jamal Khattak, rejected the bail application and ordered arrest of the accused.
Police arrested him from the court room.
