Under the auspices of Khubaib Foundation Pakistan, country partner of international philanthropic
organization the IHH (Insani Haq-o-Hurriyat) of Turkey, an Aftari cum
dinner banquet was arranged in the honor of the Turkish Ambassador to
Pakistan, Mustaf Babur Hizlan, the Turkish embassy staff besides
physically handicapped children and orphan girls from Muhammad School
of Advanced Learning (MSAL), a Khubaib Foundation orphanage solely for
girls. On the occasion, a number of media persons were also present.
Addressing the gathering of more than 60 most deserving children of
all ages, the Turkish ambassador proclaimed, “Upbringing, caring and
sponsoring the disabled and orphaned children is our prime duty
fulfilling of which contributes to a prosperous society.” Distribution
of Eid gifts which included clothes, shoes, food packs, sweets and
trinkets for girls were part of the package which were distributed
amongst the children at the ceremony. Gift distribution amongst the
children spread joy on the faces of children.
Chairman Khubaib Foundation, Nadeem Ahmed Khan while speaking to the
gathering reminded help extended by the Turkish nation during crisis
times i.e. Earthquake 2005 and the flash floods in the previous year.
Director General Khubaib Foundation, Brig(r) Dr. Maqsud-ul-Hasan along
with all head of departments was present on the occasion.
“Pak-Turk friendship is advancing at a consistent pace with both
sides engaging in projects of bilateral development,” said Hizlan
adding “the Turkish nation will always come forth to help its Pakistani
brethren as we were helped by Muslim men from this region while Turkey
was amidst WWII.” Last month an 8 member Turkish delegation hosted by
Khubaib Foundation visited Pakistan which consisted of members from the
Turkish press, the philanthropic organization IHH and people from
leading opposition party of Turkey.
Apart from other development projects initiated for the 2010 flood
affectees, the Turkish delegation also signed an M.o.U with general
secretary of Mazdoor / Kissan union under the directorate of the
capital development authority. SANA
