International Islamic Relief Organization of Saudi Arabia has dispatched 22 truck-loads of Iftar Package for deserving and affected people in different parts of the country.
This will benefit five thousand deserving families of Quetta,
Bahawalpur, Wazirabad, Bannu, Sher Garh, mansehra, Muzaffarabad, Bagh
and Islamabad.
The package contains ten kilogram each of rice and wheat flour; five
kilo each of sugar and pulse, four and a half litre of cooking oil and
two kilo dried milk.
Managing Director Pakistan Baitul Maal Zamurrad Khan, former
Information Minister Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani, Acting Saudi
Ambassador Muhammad Al-Madani and Director-General International
Islamic Relief Organization were the chief guest at the ceremony
marking despatch of the relief goods.
Speaking on the occasion, Zamurrad Khan thanked the Saudi
Government and the organization for the initiative and said this is
indicative of the Saudi concern for people in distress in Pakistan. He
hoped that the Kingdom would also provide assistance for flood affected
districts of Sindh. He said Baital Maal is sending relief goods to the
affected areas tomorrow from Karachi.
The Acting Saudi Ambassador said this was a gift from a brother to
brother and said the Iftar package would be a regular feature during
every Ramadan.
Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani said Saudi Arabia has always been in
the forefront of efforts to provide relief to people affected by
earthquake, floods and poverty.
The Director-General of the Organization said 250 orphan children
are being looked after at the orphanage established in Islamabad
besides an equal number of orphans in Mansehra. SANA
