Senate body shows concerns over non-rehabilitation of flood affectees

The Senate Standing Committee on Communication shows concerns over the non-rehabilitation of flood affectees and appealed the internationality community to fulfill its promises of rehabilitation.

The meeting of Standing Committee on Communication held on Saturday at parliament house.
The committee showed reservations over the performance regarding the rehabilitation work of institutions in flood affected areas and said that instead of cut off budget in different fields the non-payment of funds is a crucial issue.
The committee took notice on not working for the rehabilitation and directed the ministry of communications to immediate start the construction of road and bridges in the flood affected areas.
The members of committee showed concern over the situation of Balochistan and said that it is not possible for chief secretary Balochistan and provincial government to restore peace in Balochistan, adding that the grievances of Baloch people should be addressed to restore peace in Balochistan.
The Chairman NHA while briefing the committee said that the finance ministry released 2.3 billion rupees in the result of the directions of committee, adding that overall 4.6 billion were paid by finance ministry.
He said that the Punjab government creating hurdles in the construction of road from Kak Pull to kahota, adding that a letter was written to the Chief Secretary Punjab in this regard.
He said that the working is going on designing of bridges and road, adding that the construction on roads and bridges would be started in next year.
Meanwhile the members of committee, high officials of finance ministry and NHA attended the meeting. SANA
