India may unblock concessions on Pak products access to EU markets

ISLAMABAD: India is likely to withdraw objection regarding access of Pakistani products to the markets of European Union in the next meeting of WTO’s general council.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had assured to take back the objections to his Pakistani counterpart Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani during his visit to Mohali on the occasion of Cricket World Cup semi final.
The reliable sources told Online India is mulling over to withdraw her objection on almost 70 Pakistani items for access to EU markets and she can remove these doubts in the general council of World Trade Organization, which is going to be started on 13 October this year.
The sources also revealed that EU had announce relief package for Pakistan due to 2010 devastating flood under which European Union was agreed to give free access to 70 made in Pakistan products to its markets. However India, Bangladesh and Vietnam objected the plan due to which the proposal was not implemented.
Latter Bangladesh and Vietnam withdrew their objections but due to her stubbornness, India did not take back her objections and if she would remove her doubts , the pave for Pakistan would be cleared to send her products to EU markets.
The sources told this scribe that EU is also making efforts to convince India to take back her objections . Although Indian PM assured Pakistani primer but due to negative attitude of Indian bureaucracy , it could not be acted upon.
During recent visit Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar also reminded Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singhhis pledges and now the possibility has arise that India may take back her objections. Online
