Foreign hands trying to destabilize Karachi: Rehman Malik

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that external hands are trying to destabilize Karachi, adding that the government would take every possible step to solve the issues of business community of the city.

This he said while addressing a meeting of leaders of Site Association on Saturday at Karachi.
He said that CCTV cameras will be installed in the troubled Site Area of Karachi within four weeks if the traders in the city agree to bear half expenses, adding that directions were given to investigate the wrong news spread by the media, adding that decision has been taken to conduct operation in Karachi.
He said that I am ready to give an in-camera briefing to the business community regarding the conspiracies against Pakistan, adding that extortionists become very powerful Karachi, adding that the recent incidents of target killings are the result of extortion.
He said that target killers would be presented before media in next 48 hours, adding that more than 100 target killers were arrested.
He said that the business community has been targeted according to a planned conspiracy, adding that the business community played an important role in solving problems of the country at every era.
He said it is need of the hour to increase the police patrolling in markets and bazaras, adding that a parliamentary committee has been formed on the situation of Karachi, adding that we would organize meetings of the target killers with committee members in jails so that they could gather information and inform it to masses in National Assembly.
He said that the extortionists visiting the business community because the businessmen are paying money to the extortionists, adding Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan, if the supply of the oil would be stopped for a day then the whole county would be paralyzed.
He said that the attacks on police personnel were effort to disturb the situation, adding that I am ready to give briefing over the situation of peace in Karachi to the business community next week.
He said that enemies of the county planned to destabilize the county, adding that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Karachi are in the target of terrorists.
He said that the police in the city lack funds. “They do not even have bulletproof jackets and are bound to travel in open vehicles”, adding that no body condemn the attack on policemen, adding that the policemen are my kids, if any body have information about the accused they inform me, I would give them security.
Meanwhile, Home Minister of Sindh Manzoor Wassan at the occasion said that the issue of extortion started from since 1998, adding that its not new.
He said that some friends are talking about third option, adding that when other institutions were came in Karachi in 1992 then what happened.
He said we are finding out a permanent solution for this issue along with all political parties, adding that the police officer would not transfer.
He said that we have being pressurized to transfer SP Shah Jahan, adding that he would not transfer him.
He said that we would establish government writ in Karachi and restore peace in Karachi at every cost.
Leader of business community, Siraj Qasim Teli at the movement said that we are losing hopes for peace in Karachi, adding that we are requesting the government to restore peace in Karachi.
He said that the government, Rehman Malik, Manzoor Wasan, all political parties and police knows very well about the people who are disturbing the situation of Karachi, adding that if the government would make a resolve to improve the situation then it could restore peace in Karachi in one day, adding that the need is of strong will, which is lacking in government.
