FO fails to get visas for 12 Senate members for offering Umrah

Foreign Ministry failed to get visas for the 12 members of the Senate for offering Umrah in Saudi Arabia; meanwhile meeting between Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Senate Chairman Farooq Hameed Naek was also remained fruitless.
Senate chairman is very concern over the issue; meanwhile a privilege motion for the investigations of the matter has also been submitted in Senate.

Senate Secretariat sources informed “SANA” that on 1st Ramdan the documents of 12 Senate members were sent to Saudi Embassy in Islamabad with the letters of Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman Farooq Naek and Jan Muhammad Jamali.
The members, whose, documents were sent include Mian Raza Rabbani, Senator Sardar Ali Khan, Senator Muhammad Ismael Buledi, Senator Engineer Rashid Ahmed, Senator Hafiz Rashid, Senator Idrees Khan, Senator Saleh Shah, Senator Waqar Ahmed, Senator Haji Khan, Senator Haji Ghulam Ali and Senator Sabir Ali Baloch.
According to the sources due to delay in getting visas the Chairman Senate had summoned foreign minister one week ago; meanwhile Hina Rabbni Khar had ensured to make all out efforts for getting visas.
These senators intended to visit Saudi Arabia with families to perform Umrah, but foreign office still has not succeeded to get visas for these senators.
According to the sources an additional secretary has also been activated for this purpose; meanwhile these senators intended to perform Umrah in Ramdan but still were not succeeded to get visas as last decade of the holy month has started.
Meanwhile Senator Ismael Buledi and Senator Haji Khan have submitted a privilege motion against the foreign office on the issue, in which they have demanded probe into the matter through senate standing committee; meanwhile other senators are also going to present joint resolution and signatures are being taken for the purpose.
According to the sources the said senators have decided to take up the issue in Senate after Eid-ul-Fitar.
It is also expected that the said members would hold protest demonstration in front of foreign office for failure in getting visas for them to offer Umrah. sANA
