PML-N demands formation of Parliamentary committee to review Anjum Aqeel case

ISLAMABAD: Expressing dissatisfaction over investigation process against member National Assembly Anjum Aqeel in presence of Interior Minister Rehman Malik, PML-N has demanded to form Parliamentary committee to review the case.

Talking on point of order in National Assembly session here on Friday, member NA Anjum Aqeel said that the government is interfering in his case and the investigation process while he further added that he is innocent and he would remain with PML-N.
He said that the present democratic government has formed fake scandal of Rs 6 billion against him but he would fight with morale because he is innocent.
He said that IG Islamabad filed fake cases against him and the police raided at his house. He said that when his party workers and fans came to knew about his arrest they thronged outside the police station while the police made him flee from the site through a conspiracy but after some time he presented himself before police for arrest
He said that the police should take action against perpetrators of target killing in Karachi. He said that sections of terrorism were imposed on him but he should be told whether he is terrorist or any weapon had recovered from his possession.
Talking on point of order Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that they are fully aware that judiciary is free in the country and decision of Supreme Court in connection with Anjum Aqeel case would be accepted.
He further said that he and Doctor Tariq Fazal have met with IG Islamabad and produced Anjum Aqeel before the police.
Khawaja Saad further said that the police are following Anjum Aqeel on pressure of Interior Minister Rehman Malik and Babar Awan.
He expressed dissatisfaction over FIA’s investigation in presence of Interior Minister Rehman Malik so Speaker should form a Parliamentary committee to review the case. Online
